Endocrinology and Metabolism provides consultation and
treatment services for patients with known and suspected diseases of the
endocrine system. For patients with endocrine disorders, the full range
of hormonal and metabolic abnormalities are evaluated and managed. Areas
of interest include pituitary gland disorders; diseases of the thyroid;
gonadal abnormalities, including impotence; infertility and menstrual disturbances;
adrenal gland disorders; and hypertension of endocrine origin. Consultation
and treatment for patients with diabetes and hyperlipidemias are provided
through the Diabetes and Metabolism Clinic. Disorders of bone and calcium
metabolism are evaluated, bone biopsy and bone densitometry are available
to aid in diagnosis. |
