The Division of Vascular Surgery provides comprehensive
consultation, diagnosis and therapeutic services for the medical and surgical
management of diseases of the vascular system. Interests of the division
include atherosclerosis and risk factor management, cerebovascular disease,
stroke prevention, aneurysmal disease, acute and chronic occlusive disease
of the upper and lower extremities, renovascular hypertension, visceral
ischemia, venous thromboembolism and noninvasive diagnostic methods and
minimally invasive treatment modalities. Patients with transient ischemic
attacks or stroke due to carotid artery or great vessel disease, thoracoabdominal
or peripheral aneurysms, claudication, lower extremity ischemia or ulcerations,
vascular access problems, venous insufficiency, upper extremity ischemia
or hand ischemia are appropriate referrals to the division. In addition,
referrals of patients with non-operative vascular disorders including vasospastic
syndromes, vasculitidies, vasculopathies, and hypercoagulopathic disorders
are encouraged. |
